Consent
Under the Health Care (Consent) and Care Facility (Admission) Act, all residents admitted into a long-term care facility require consent, unless they have been assessed and determined to be incapable of giving or refusing this consent. When this is the case, consent will be sought from the person closest to them, their substitute decision maker.

The publicly funded beds waitlist is managed by the Island Health Authority with 2+ years average length time.

Privately Funded, Long-term Care
The privately funded bed waitlist is managed directly through Evergreen with a 6 month- 1 year waitlist.
The first step is emailing here weareateam@evergreenseniors.com to check availability.
Privately Funded, Transitional Care
The privately funded Transitional Care waitlist is managed by Evergreen.
The first step is completing the application found here
Second step, Evergreen reviews the application, contacts the applicant or substitute decision maker within 72 hours, then determines eligibility criteria for the waitlist.
Third step, acceptance to the waitlist.
Privately Funded, Respite Care
The privately funded respite waitlist is managed by Evergreen.

Hospice Palliative Care
The privately funded Hospice Palliative Care waitlist is managed by the Hospice Society.
The first step is completing the application found here; https://www.crhospice.ca/admission
Second step, Evergreen reviews the application, contacts the applicant or substitute decision maker within 48 hours, then determines eligibility criteria for the waitlist.
